My day at Aardman

Yesterday I went down to Aardman animations here in Bristol after being invited to while I was down in London, so this is still part of my Skittles advert prize :D!
I forgot to go to Uni in the morning, so it really did feel like I was sneaking off behind my friends’ backs. On my way there I didn’t really think much about what the others on the course would say, I was too excited.
The people at reception are very nice. If you’re in the area and feel like a nice ‘hello’ just walk in, feel welcome, then leave fulfilled (don’t really do that, it’s just a little weird). I however had an agenda! So I took a seat underneath the large Chop Socky Chooks poster and waited to meet John Woolley (producer) again (met him at TBWA in London).
John led me upstairs, where I saw the producers’ workspaces, then we moved onto the canteen to grab a cup of tea. Oh look, three Oscars, half a dozen Baftas, and numerous other awards standing up in the large awards case that John told me visitors were sat next to.
We then discussed my course for some reason. I really did want to ask about the studio, but I was only polite to answer. We then moved on to see the few, large CGI based rooms of the building, then down to the 3D section where I saw loads of Aardman models from the past, present, and probably future.
All in all it was a rather nice day :)
